ASU Law: Immigration Enforcement, Resistance and Narratives Through the Lens of Mixed-Status Families, April 9

On April 9, 2026, ASU Law's Civil Rights, Migration, and Workplace Law Initiative, along with ASU's School of Transborder Studies and the Hispanic Research Center, will host a national inter-disciplinary conference "Immigration Enforcement, Resistance and Narratives Through the Lens of Mixed-Status Families," exploring the family as an entry-point for scholarship, storytelling, and advocacy. This program will feature a range of interdisciplinary scholars, the Mexican Consulate, community advocates, and storytellers, including immigration legal scholars Rose Cuison-Villazor, César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández, Angela Banks, Evelyn Cruz,  and others.

On April 8, 2026, in the evening, we will also host a community reception and book reading by César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández at the Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center, an artistic space near the law school.

Virtual participation is available as well.
