Denaturalization Lawsuits Jump in May and June 2026
The Trump administration's promised denaturalization campaign is taking off. TRAC Immigration reports that, starting last month, the administration dramatically increased the number of denaturalization actions it filed seeking to revoke U.S. citizenship. "While historically the federal government brought an average of less than 1 denaturalization civil lawsuit per month (or just 0.6), at least 15 denaturalization complaints were filed in May 2026, and 18 have already been filed in the first part of June 2026."
The TRAC Immigration report traces denaturalization efforts of recent presidents in a section on "Historical Roots to Current Denaturalization Actions."
