Happy Juneteenth!
Pew Research Center provides information about the newest federal holiday, Juneteenth National Independence Day, which celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. "This year, administrative calendars show that at least 33 states and the District of Columbia will mark Juneteenth with a paid day off for most state government workers."
Last year, the Associated Press ran a story entitled "On Juneteenth, Trump complains about ‘too many’ holidays." USA Today reports that "[u]nder the Trump administration, Juneteenth and Martin Luther King Jr. Day have been removed from the list of fee-free days at all national parks."
