St. Patrick's Day is a day to celebrate the nation's immigrant roots. Rob Curran writes that, "[a]s The Dallas Morning News' only Irish columnist and only immigrant columnist, I'm appealing to anyone who has ever raised a green beer or donned a `Kiss Me I'm Irish' hat on St. Paddy's Day to remember why America celebrates this day by demanding an end to deportation quotas. . . . As soon as the Trump administration gave ICE quotas, as soon as there were vast warehouses to fill, the dragnet was always going to widen to include people who are guilty of little more than technicalities . . . honest, hardworking people trying to keep up with the paperwork and provide for their families."
