Last night, my hometown OKC Thunder lost Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to the San Antonio Spurs. It was a brutal watch. Now that the Thunder are out for good, and I will not longer jinx their play by blogging about the enemy, I bring you the Immigrant of the Day: Victor Nonga Wembanyama-de Fautereau-Vassel.

Wembanyama was born and raised in France. He's a towering 7 feet, 4 inches of basketball talent whose NBA career began as the 2023 first-round draft pick. He joined the Spurs where he has played ever since. Among his numerous accolades: NBA Rookie of the Year (2024), NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2026), and NBA All-Star (2025, 2026).

He'll be one to watch as the Spurs get ready to play the Knicks in the NBA Finals.
