New Data on Detention from the Vera Institute of Justice (Vera)

This week, the Vera Institute of Justice (Vera) released new data on GitHub that track people in detention and on "Alternatives to Detention" (ATD), as reported by U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE).

Vera created these datasets from more than 100 ICE reports that Vera has downloaded from ICE’s "Detention Management" webpage since 2020.

Vera’s new datasets make public in an easy-to-use way data from past reports that ICE has since erased. Vera’s GitHub repository also includes all of the original archived ICE reports.

View the data and raw files on GitHub.
