President (Falsely) Blames Gov't Shutdown on Dems' Demand to Give "Illegals" Free Healthcare

The White House has released a memo regarding the "Democrat Plan to Fund Healthcare for Illegal Immigrants." That plan, the White House argues in a press release today is the reason for the government shutdown:

"Democrats and their Fake News allies want you to believe it’s all a lie that Democrats shut down the government over free healthcare for illegal aliens. Except that’s exactly what happened."

You know the "facts" are out there when a FOX affiliate concludes the claim is "false." Here's the assessment:

"Democrats are trying to extend tax credits that make health insurance premiums more affordable on marketplaces established by the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, and reverse Medicaid cuts in Trump's big bill passed this summer. But immigrants who entered the country illegally are not eligible for either program."

139 Migrants Die in Waters off Djibouti
