It is Friday afternoon so its time for some immigration actions from the White House. Will Weissert and Rebecca Santana for the Associated Press report that, after the Supreme Court rejected his first effort to restrict birthright citizenship, President Donald Trump is once more trying to limit the citizenship of persons born in the United States.

The president said he was signing two executive actions (here and here) to limit those eligible for U.S. citizenship based on birth in the United States.

As AP describes it, "[t]he written executive order released was narrower in scope than the previous one invalidated by the Supreme Court and appears to attempt to restrict birthright citizenship of children born to adults with connections to foreign embassies or organizations as well as anyone considered an `alien enemy' of the United States."

The second action broadly defines “birth tourism” as " the entry of any foreign national into the United States via a nonimmigrant visa for the purpose of giving birth on American soil." Would that include a mother coming to the United States on a nonimmigrant visa for better health care and improve the chances for the delivery of a health baby?
