Syrian Immigrants in the United States

The Syrian civil war displaced one-quarter of Syria's population, although only a small fraction made it to the United States. All the same, the U.S. Syrian immigrant population more than doubled over the course of the war.

As of 2024, there were about 122,000 Syrian immigrants in the United States. Compared to the overall foreign-born population, these immigrants were more likely to be U.S. citizens and to have obtained a green card through refugee resettlement or asylum.
