Throwback Thursday: Undocumented by John Moore

Throwback Thursday: Undocumented by John Moore

Undocumented is a 2018 book that showcases the photography of John Moore. It's focused on "immigration and the militarization of the United States-Mexico border."

You may think that you don't know the work of John Moore. But I'm nearly certain that you do. His photo of the little boy watching a movie while in detention is iconic. Or maybe you'll recall his photo of an ICE agent dragging shackles to be used on a detainee flight.

I managed to pick up a beautiful copy via eBay, though a brand new copy is currently just $14 on Amazon.

The collection is really powerful. Some of the photos are hard to look at – a dead body, a deformed child. Others bring to life concepts that cannot really be understood without a visual reference – riding atop La Bestia, crossing the Rio Grande, children in detention, staying warm in hieleras.

Bottom line: I highly recommend this book.
