Trump admin dismisses 5 more SF immigration judges, posts ads looking to hire "deportation judges"
News from the San Francisco Bay Area. The Trump administration reportedly let go five more San Francisco immigration judges late last week "and has now terminated more than half of the court's judges since coming into office in January."
The dismissals come as the Department of Justice, which houses the Executive Office for Immigration Review and houses the immigration courts, posted advertisements in recent days seeking to hire “deportation judges” for San Francisco and other locations.
San Francisco, according to the union that represents immigration judges, has been hit particularly hard by the Trump administration. Just nine judges remain listed on the court’s website, down from 21 in January.
