Volunteer Opportunities with the ABA Commission on Immigration

Info for your students as we head into summer: The ABA Commission on Immigration has some incredible volunteer opportunities:

  •  Safe City Baltimore Immigration Legal Screening Hotline. Volunteers conduct telephonic intakes and legal screenings for non-detained residents of Baltimore City who have questions about their immigration status. Initial Intakes can be conducted by law students - no prior immigration experience required.
  • Immigration Court Observation & Awareness Project. Volunteers do not need any previous experience with immigration law, and do not need to be lawyers or other legal professionals. Volunteers will observe Master Calendar Hearings (which are short preliminary hearings in immigration court) and record observations using forms provided by the Commission on Immigration.

Interested students can fill out this Volunteer Interest Survey.
